Tour Itinerary
Day 1
- Chandigarh to Kalpa/Sangla – 336 kms Drive
- Report in Chandigarh by early morning 5am and board your vehicles for the drive to Kalpa. We will drive through the precipitous Sutlej gorge to the beautiful Kinnaur valley till Kalpa. You will get the first view of Kinner Kailash today. Overnight in hotel / guest house in Kalpa.
Day 2
- Kalpa to Kaza to Chicham – 230 km (altitude, 4270 m) Drive
- Travel from Kalpa to chicham via Kaza village in Spiti valley. Overnight in hotel/guesthouse/homestay.
Day 3
- Introduction and acclimatization day in chicham Your first day at altitude will be utilized for acclimatizing with the elevation gain, orienting with the terrain and introduction with the guide and other members.
- One of the most isolated villages in Spiti. We will rest and acclimatize to the altitude. This will also be your base for the next few days as the chances of spotting snow leopards is high in this region.
Day 4
- Snow Leopard Spotting
- We spend the day in the same place waiting patiently to spot these snow leopards, the majestic beasts and other wildlife that is indigenous to Spiti valley.
- Snow leopard tracking guides and porters will lead you to the spot. There would not be any specific routine for these 4 days reserved for spotting snow leopards, as we need to move to the spotting places as soon as we hear about the sightings from our spotting guides.
Day 5
- Snow Leopard Spotting
- We spend the day in the same place waiting patiently to spot these snow leopards, the majestic beasts and other wildlife that is indigenous to Spiti valley.
- Snow leopard tracking guides and porters will lead you to the spot. There would not be any specific routine for these 4 days reserved for spotting snow leopards, as we need to move to the spotting places as soon as we hear about the sightings from our spotting guides.

- Chicham to Kalpa: ~10 hours drive time, covering about 226 km. Stay at Kalpa.

- Drive back to Chandigarh – 336 kms Drive
- Trip ends with happy memories

Tour Instructions
- We have sighted snow leopards on all expeditions we have organized in the last six years.
- It gets really frigid. Winter travel requires serious protection from the bone-chilling Himalayan weather.
- So, you’re going to need layers. Lots of them, along with thick winter clothing.
- If anything, you shouldn’t underestimate how cold and windy it can be. The temperature often drops to -30 °C.
- The air in Spiti is very thin due to high altitude and no vegetation so it is advised to see your doctor and take the required medication.
- If you have prior experience of trekking or hiking high altitude terrains, then there shouldn’t be any problems related to high altitude sickness.
